Wharerata Long Lunch

With the gorgeous Manawatu summer sun shining today, we couldn't have asked for a better day to kick off a new year of events with our annual Long Lunch.
It’s always special to see new guests attending their first Long Lunch event, and those returning guests who keep coming back each year.

While the entertaining sounds of The Passengers playing, guests dined on a five-course Kiwi inspired platter lunch menu of local artisan breads with Telegraph Hill, olives, oils and homemade hummus; Pork Rillette with witloof salad, gherkins, and a lemon dressing; Turks free range chicken grilled on the BBQ with salad greens; slow cooked coastal lamb shoulder with green beans and hollandaise, new season potatoes with parsley butter and lamb jus; before finishing up with a sweet treat, a meringue wreath topped off with fresh cream and Lewis Farms summer berries.

Riverby Estate wines included a Pinot Noir 2019, a Noble Riesling 2019, Riesling 2018, Chardonnay 2019, Grūner Veltliner 2018, Sauvignon Blanc 2020, and a Cicada Gewūrztraminer 2020.
